From Promise to Purpose: Inducting Our Future Torchbearers
Rotaract Induction 2025 at SRCC was NOT your traditional formal orientation — it was relaxed, high-energy and real.

Rotaract Induction 2025 at SRCC was completely NOT your traditional formal orientation. It was relaxed, high-energy, warm, friendly, and seriously much more fun than anticipated. It was held on October 9th at 1:45 PM, and the atmosphere was already lively due to the President's sensational message the previous day. From the moment we stepped in, it felt like the beginning of an adventure rather than a briefing or intro — and I'm not exaggerating.
The new Rotaractors were told to sit by their departments, and that little change got everyone chatting and intrigued. We did a quick round of self-intros where each Rotaractor shared their name, where they're from, and a fun fact about themselves. It was fast, kind of wild, but totally fun!
The formal segment began with introductions of the cabinet — but with a twist. Each senior was introduced with a sassy hashtag that completely suited them. It was one of the highlights! Everyone was laughing at the hashtags, and it strangely helped us remember the seniors rather than zone out like we inevitably do in formal settings. A special shoutout to Rachit Kedia's moderation that maintained the tempo and kept everyone engaged.
After that came the department unveiling. Not tedious announcements — this part was like a reality TV moment where individuals cheered, reacted, and changed seats while their real departments were announced. The transition was smooth, enjoyable, and made everyone part of it.
And the cherry on top? The games! We had "One Word Wonder," where we built a story with one-word additions and it ended up being really hilarious. Then we had the inter-departmental "Dares" challenge, where dares were thrown that got everyone quite competitive; if you lost, your entire department lost points, so the pressure was completely on. The final piece, "Confessions," had everyone in stitches with all the shocks and familiar moments. Honestly, the games were hilarious and a perfect ice-breaker!
What was impressive was that the seniors participated. They weren't remote or too formal; they played, cheered, and ensured no one was left behind. President Angel Patel confessed to feeling fearful that all the dares would go awry, yet the juniors rose to the challenge with confidence and good humour. The event wrapped up with group pictures that captured the smiles and kicked off a new chapter.
Overall, the induction mixed professionalism with warmth. It established informal bonds, created enthusiasm, and proved that Rotaract is not only about service and leadership — it's about bonding, working together, and having fun in the process.
These new members will join several committees and projects that aim to create leadership, creativity, and a sense of service. Once again, it would create a family away from family. From club activities to community service, it all begins with potential and responsibility. And so began the Rotaractors' journey of becoming leaders.
